The Monastery of Nossa Senhora da Visitação, better known for the Convento das Descalças Reais - Royal Barefoot Convent -, is located about 4 minutes walk from Portas do Sol. It is a monastery of cloistered nuns, founded in 1559 by Joan of Austria, widow of Prince João Manuel of Portugal, sister of the king of Spain Felipe II and mother of the future Portuguese king Don Sebastião. It is a sober classicist building from the 16th century, where you can watch religious celebrations. You can also visit the museum, which has an important collection of works of art. You can attend two masses a day. Museum hours: From Tuesday to Saturday. Morning: 10:00 - 14:00 Afternoon: 16: 00 - 18:30 Sundays and holidays. 10:00 - 15:00 Ticket offices and access to the Monastery close an hour before Weekly closing: Monday

Park Edward VII, of The United Kingdom, is the largest park in the center of Lisbon. Inaugurated in 1903, in honor of Edward VII, who had visited Lisbon the previous year to reaffirm the alliance between the two countries. Until then, it was called Parque da Liberdade (Freedom Park). The park spans about twenty-five hectares. Edward VII Park was built in the first half of the 20th century to give back to Lisbon what the social walk had given until the middle of the XIX century in terms of the enjoyment of public areas - which had been destroyed following the opening of Avenida da Liberdade, in 1882. The open land belonging to a quarry and was intended for the “green” extension of Liberty avenue. The current configuration of the park was designed by the architect Francisco Keil do Amaral (1942). The central strip, covered with grass, is flanked by long sidewalks of Portuguese pavement, dividing the park into two green, wooded areas. In the northwest corner of the park, on the site of an old basalt quarry, is the Cold Greenhouse, with a diversity of exotic plants, streams, waterfalls, palm trees and trails, fuchsia, flowering bushes and banana trees and the Hot Greenhouse with plants lush, lakes and cacti as well as tropical birds. Near the greenhouses is a lake with large carp and a park for children to play, in the shape of a galleon. On the east side is the current Carlos Lopes Pavilion, a Portuguese structure used in the International Exhibition in Rio de Janeiro, 1922, and renamed in honor of the winner of the 1984 Olympic marathon.

The Bass Strait, which connects Tasmania and Australia, can be admired via the George Bass Coastal Walk, which is about an hour's drive from central Melbourne. You can also take the train to Kilcunda. The pedestrian route is about 7 km. The hike offers spectacular coastal views and follows the route of explorer George Bass's epic voyage of discovery along the southern shore of the Anderson Peninsula, more than 200 years ago. The Amsterdam art scene naturally has strong associations with the Old Masters, but the city is also home to several premier photography museums and annual exhibitions dedicated to great photography, such as Eye Filmmuseum. Situated on the northern bank of the River IJ, just opposite Central Station, this cinema, film museum, café/restaurant and cutting-edge event location is a must-see. Eye Filmmuseum is free to visit with the I amsterdam City Card, but for some of the exhibitions there is an additional surcharge. If you don't have a City Card, get your ticket.
