The building was designed by Henry Eli White as the largest seating theater in Australia, with a capacity of over 2,800 spectators. Helsinki Cathedral is an Evangelical Lutheran cathedral in the Diocese of Helsinki. It was originally built as a tribute to Tsar Nicholas I of Russia, and was known as St. Nicholas Church until Finland's independence in 1917.
