Founded on January 22, 1957, the Chilean Association of Astronomy and Astronautics (ACHAYA) offers several observation and study courses in this area of knowledge. The designation of Teatro Carlos Alberto, former National Auditorium Carlos Alberto, intends to evoke the king of Sardinia, who died in exile in Porto in 1849, and who had been welcomed in the Palace of Barão do Valado, in whose garden the theater was built by initiative scored by Manuel da Silva Neves.
