The museum island has more than half a dozen museums with different types of collections and themes. It is located in the center of Berlin's oldest district, Mitte, between the River Spree and the SpreeKanal. Take the metro line U6 or U8 (see the App under Useful Information) and find, at the north top of the island, the magnificently designed Bode-Museum is home to two collections: the Sculpture Collection and Museum of Byzantine Art and the Münzkabinett. In addition, the museum also contains paintings from the Gemäldegalerie, which are presented alongside the European sculpture to form a dialogue between the two art forms. Closed on Mondays. At 20 minutes by train form the Vienna city center, you will find the Schönbrunn Palace. By the end of the seventeenth century Emperor Leopold I commissioned the Baroque architect Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach, who had received his training in Rome, to design an imperial hunting lodge for his son, Crown Prince Joseph, later to become Emperor Joseph I. Replacing the château de plaisance built on this site for the dowager empress Eleonora of Gonzaga in 1642, it was to grow into a palatial imperial residence over the course of the eighteenth century. Ramen Noodles Museum About 50 minutes by public transport, to the south, from the center of Tokyo, we discover another city Yokohama, with about 4 million inhabitants. Yokohama is home to one of the first Japanese ports opened for foreign trade, in 1859. In the city there are several attractions: a large Chinatown, with hundreds of shops and restaurants, Sankei-en Garden, a botanical park that contains Japanese residences preserved from different times. However, a visit to the Ramen Museum allows you to enter a genuinely oriental concept of Chinese origin but created and launched in Japan and around the world by Momofuku Ando (1910-2007): the Cup Noodles. In 1958, Ando wanted to create an instant ramen that would be ready with just the addition of water, which he achieved after many experiments. Initially sold in packages. However, after 1971 and during a visit by Ando to the United States, it started to be sold in another format. Indeed, Ando watched supermarket workers eat their ramen from a glass. So, he came to the conclusion that this would be the way he could make the product and the brand global, selling the noodles in a cup format, just by adding water. A success, Ramem features the history of ramen noodles in Japan, including the smash hit instant ramen. Built in 1686, on a rock in Miramar beach, now belonging to the sea, now to the land, the Chapel of Senhor da Pedra underwent improvement works in 1936, in the middle of the Second World War. According to one of the panels, it is believed that the chapel initially received pagan cults from pre-Christian peoples, of a naturalistic nature whose deities were venerated in full nature, having subsequently been converted to Christianity. The pilgrimage to Senhor da Pedra is one of the most traditional both in Vila Nova de Gaia and in the parish of Gulpilhares. It takes place annually on the beaches of Senhor da Pedra, on the Sunday of the Holy Trinity, and lasts until the following Tuesday.
