At about 40 minutes from Lisbon you will find DançArte, the resident dance company at Cineteatro S. João, since 1996. The Company promotes actions to promote and develop dance and other artistic areas. Its history is long, with innovative projects. The building, inaugurated on July 26, 1952, was architect Willy Braun and engineer Pedro Cavalleri Martinho. The stucco technique, markedly in an Art Deco style. The building is currently classified as a Monument of Public Interest and the establishment of the respective Special Protection Area (ZEP), which aims to safeguard its architectural framework and its visual connection with the surrounding urban fabric and, in particular, with Largo of S. The building designated Secessão de Viena, designed by the architect Joseph Maria Olbrich (1897-1898), represents a tribute to the movement of several young artists who, at the end of the sec. XIX, was led by Gustav Klimt, one of the first to leave the traditional Society of Austrian artists, in protest against the artistic and ethnic rules in force at the time. In the Vienna Secession you can admire, among others, the work of Klimt, the Beethoven Frieze, designed for the 14th Vienna Exhibition and in honor of the composer, provided with a sculpture by Max Klinger. The hiking trail that we suggest starts on the south side of the D. Luis I bridge, in Gaia, and extends along approximately six kilometers, to the Interpretative Center of the Local Nature Reserve of the Douro Estuary. It is a route completely parallel to the Douro river, which allows you to admire the riverside vocation of Porto and Gaia, the old industrial archeology as well as the recovered ones. Close to the Afurada market, the new architecture and the marina where you can rent a boat trip on the river. Piazza Colonna is in the historic center of Rome, about a 20-minute walk from the Colosseum. Piazza Colonna is a reference to Marco Aurélio's Column, which has been in place since 193, and the bronze statue of São Paulo, at the top of the column, was placed in 1589 by order of Pope Sixus V. The Way Lata (now Via del Corso) crosses the east end of the square in a north-south direction. It is a square surmounted to the north by Palazzo Chigi, the former embassy of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. To the south we have the side façade of Palazzo Ferraioli, former building of the Papal Post Office, and the small church Santi Bartolomeo and Alessandro dei Bergamaschi (1731–5). To the west is Palazzo Wedekind (1838). The writer James Joyce also walked this square when he worked for the Austrian bank Nast-Kolb Schumacher, which, at the beginning of the 20th century, had its headquarters in this square.
